The brief called for the design of a small musical arts center to revitalize the heart of Granen. The form of our proposal is based on the study of the musical dance of the Bolero, an intermix between fast and slow movements, and is one continuous ribbon the wraps around the building to create a series of spaces. The main performance space is a glazed box overlooking an existing square - this space opens up (the glazing opens up like the concert curtains) to the urban square, engaging it into the design and to allowing guests to sit in the square and watch the performance.
