One of our most important international commission was from the Kuwait Sports Club to design the masterplan for this sports complex in 1963. The Ministry of Public Works in Kuwait had previously known RiadArchitecture’s “Generation One” Founder, Architect Mahmoud Riad, through the United Nations expert group meeting on Metropolitan Planning which he was invited to be a key participant in Stockholm, 1961, as well as his work on the highly regarded Arab League Headquarters in Tahrir Square, Egypt. The Kuwait Sports Club Masterplan included a 18,500 Seated Football Stadium, a Swimming Pool Stadium, a Gymnastic Arena, Basketball courts, as well as Tennis Courts.
