The competition brief asked for the interior design of the existing metro station. After studying Russian Constructivist paintings and sculptures, as well as the hundreds of Metro Stations in Moscow, we realized a heavy emphasis on one point perspective and the use of pure geometric forms. This led our design to put an emphasis on framing; as visitors travel through the station they feel that they are walking through geometric frames or planes, much like a metro car travelling through the tunnel.
